In 2016 ESA decided to collaborate with a small number of high profile fashion schools around the European Union. One country for each astronaut that had been in space, would design outfits, either fit for space travel or with the concept of space travel engrained into the creative. Our challenge was to showcase this process right from the thought stages to research, right up to design, prototyping, pattern cutting and production. The finale would be held at the Science Museum in London, where all schools would showcase their collections. We captured every part of the process, and not only helped people understand the brief that was set to the, but also get people engaged when thinking about joining Ravensbourne’s Fashion course. We did this by providing this video on digital displays in the building during open season.
